Why is it important?
There are unmet needs in the treatment of SLE. IL-23 blockade has some positive effects in the mice model of lupus nephritis.
Perspectives
SLE is used to be viewed as a B cell-mediated autoimmune disease. However, the success of rituximab in AAV in contrast to SLE implies that we have to rethink our hypothesis about the pathogenesis of SLE.
