What is it about?
We have analyzed toxicity of acrylamide on lung cells. We have made a widespread cytotoxicity assay (MTT assay), apoptosis assays and confocal and electron microscope analyses.

Why is it important?
For the first time, we have found the cytotoxic effect of acrylamide on A549 cells. And we suggested an IC50 concentration.
Perspectives
Acrylamide has wide range of toxicity. It has multiple organ toxicity. Only its effects on nervous system and reproductive system has been well-studied. Other organ and systems are waiting to be enlightened. Here we presented data for lung cells after acrylamide treatment.
