What is it about?

This study was conducted to assess the ability of the SOFA, APACHE II & SAPS II methods to predict group mortality in ICU patients who were poisoned with paraquat.

Why is it important?

APACHE II was more stronger discriminative power for predicting mortality compared to the other, ie., SOFA & SAPS II.

Perspectives

We recommend that the APACH II score be used to predict outcomes and stratify risk among paraquat poisoned patients in ICU.
