Electric utilities (power companies) play the key importance for the national economy. In a dynamic, permanently changing environment, electric companies are undertaking various strategic actions to maintain their position on the market. The turbulent environment mobilizes the company's management to adopt one of the possible behaviors as passive, reactive, proactive or active. Why is it important?
In this article I investigated the startegic actions of electric utilities which are undertaken in turbulent macroenvironment (political, ecological, social, technological, economical and legal). The main hypothesis was created that electric power companies adapt to environmental conditions (passive adaptation) and depending on the size of the company, begin cooperation with the environment (active adaptation).
Perspectives
After the study, research statements, reflections and postulates related to the research were formulated. For the CEO of the electric utilities as well as for researchers the cognitive conclusions and utilitarian applications can help to understand the development perspectives of this part of the market.
