What is it about?

An arc-light between contact wires and contact strips on pantographs in railways increases wear of the contact wires and contact strips. The infer-ways on contact strips wear based on the intensity of the arc-light, however, have never unveiled so far. This paper shows the infer ways on contact strips from the intensity of an arc-light based on some experiment data and calculation results. The results in this paper will be available for the maintenance for the contact strips.

Why is it important?

The measurement of conact loss have been measured for the current collecting perfomance, however, we could apply the measurement for the maintenance to reduce not only the wear of contact strips but also the wear of contact wires.

Perspectives

I hope that the result will be applied for a lot of railway companies to reduce their maintenaces.
