What is it about?

a numerical simulation of chaotic behaviour was performed using the Lyapunov exponent method. To control this chaotic behaviour, a controller was designed based on the sliding mode variable structure control (SM-VSC) method.

Why is it important?

The vehicle motion is complex, manifesting doubleperiodic, quasi-periodic and chaotic phases, which negatively affects the vehicle lateral stability.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long standing collaborations. This article also lead to the different angles of view on the lateral stability of vehicles
