What is it about?

The study is about to determination of disc deformation on a natural stone cutting process by using cutting parameters. 4 different levels as undamaged disc, less damaged disc, much damaged disc, and broken disc are selected and the deformation class is predicted by using cutting parameters. Furthermore, the most related parameters to predict disc deformation class are determined. This procedure provide both improve prediction accuracy and reduce computation complexity.

Why is it important?

In the study, the aim is determination of disc deformation on a natural stone cutting process by using cutting parameters. The determination of the cutting disc deformation as quickly as possible is very important in terms of job security and energy efficiency. Unrecognized damaged disc reduces cutting quality and efficiency. Furthermore, the broken disc causes work accidents. By the proposed approach, the deformation level of disc can be determined early and can be intervened before problem occurance. Furthermore, in the study, the most effective parameters for determining the disc deformation class are also determined. This avoids wasting time with insignificant data and increases estimation success.
