What is it about?

Micro Machining is the advanced technology. We have studied the physics of the fluid flow in micro channels. The flow happens to be laminar with local turbulence or vortex due to electrode rotation. Also the debris flow in the small gap has been analyzed.

Why is it important?

In the micro domain it is difficult to study the multi physics of EDM by experimentation alone. So CFD method makes it easier to predict the physics of the micro EDM to improve the performance of the process.

Perspectives

A new tool of CFD has been utilized to study the physics of micro EDM which is very complex multi physics problem. The research will help understand the phenomenon occurring at inter electrode gap of micro ED milling process.
