We studied an automatic forwarding procedure in web surveys in order to understand how it works, how it should be understood in relation with a manual forwarding procedure and how it influences on responding.

The automatic forwarding has not previously been studied thoroughly from the cognitive perspective in the context of web surveys. The topic is also important because it helps to understand how the web surveys applying auto forwarding should be conducted on personal computers as well as smartphones.
