What is it about?

What is Insight Policing and how was it developed? This article describes how practitioners from the conflict resolution field partnered with U.S. police departments to address the problem of retaliatory community violence. What emerged from their collaboration was the development of Insight Policing, an innovative, practice-based communication skill-set that helps officers identify conflict behavior and deescalate contentious encounters in the moment of enforcement. Doing this positions them to execute their authority with legitimacy.
