What is it about?

Lower blepharoplasty can safely and effectively be done to address any under eye bags or residual fullness in patients who have previously had filler injection under eyes.

Why is it important?

As more and more patients get filler injection to treat dark circles under eyes (tear trough deformity), it is important to understand their implication when patient needs surgical therapy in form of lower blepharoplasty.

Perspectives

I have treated many patients who have residual fullness under eyes after previous eyelid filler injection. The residual fullness could be filler, swelling, orbital fat, or combination, and sometimes lower blepharoplasty is the best treatment going forward.
