Lung toxicity in mice of airborne particulate matter from a modern layer hen facility containing Proposition 2-compliant animal caging

What is it about?

The way hens are caged in the egg production industry is changing because of increased concerns about the welfare and quality of life of the hens. In this paper we examine the potential impact of airborne particles on worker health and safety in barns containing the new types of caging as compared to traditional caging methods.
