Why is it important?
The information presented in this article is important because it sheds light on a group of parents that may be overlooked in the relevant literature. Many parental involvement studies have focused on poor and working class Latinos, yet Latinos of other SES groups are of consequence to this field of knowledge.
Perspectives
This publication is important to me because I feel that it has given a voice to a group of people that are often not heard. While the experiences of the poor and working class are of tremendous importance, focusing only on those who we feel are most in need may lead us to turn a blind eye to other groups facing similar issues.
