Why is it important?

The importance of this research is the impact of Brazil on the international scenario, even if it is a developing country. In the past decade, Brazil became one of the world’s fastest-growing economies in spite of the nationwide economic recession in 2015 and 2016. Brazil is also the world’s ninth largest economy by nominal gross domestic product and the eighth largest by purchasing power parity Besides this, Brazil is the fifth most populated country as well as the fifth largest so the quantity of MSW generated is representative in terms of global environmental and human health impacts associated with waste management.

Perspectives

The perspectives of this work are to help researchers understand the solid waste situation in developing countries and to collaborate on the discussion of improvements to reduce the environmental impact caused by solid waste.
