This work suggests that people who anticipate feeling guilty for not supporting certain policy will support policies even if they fail. This has implications for current policy appeals, financial allocation for policies, and public education regarding crime policy.
Perspectives
This article is really neat as it shows that emotion can play the role of a backup system for supporting policy when one's cognitive system is insufficient in determining that particular decision.
