What is it about?

How workers feel about the security of their jobs is an important feature of their overall well-being. However, something that isn't often addressed by previous research is how they feel about their prospects when it comes to looking for a new job. This paper examines whether or not traditional characteristics of secure work improve workers' outlooks on both their job security and their ability to find a job that is similar to the one they have.

Why is it important?

This research is important because workers are changing jobs over the course of their careers more often than before. This means that the security of their job, while still important, isn't as important as their ability to find another one.
