What is it about?
This paper describes findings from the USAID | SPRING project's "Pathways to Better Nutrition" Uganda study, which explored the influence of Uganda's national nutrition plan (UNAP) on the priority setting and funding for nutrition from 2013 to 2015. Results suggest the UNAP has played an important role in strengthening the enabling environment for nutrition action, but has not yet influenced funding. The next UNAP will need to translate these improvements into a greater number of nutrition activities and higher levels of funding at the national and subnational levels.

Why is it important?
This paper provides a longitudinal perspective on exactly how national nutrition plans can exert influence on the yearly workplanning process. This study is also the first to document exactly how much funding is going toward nutrition in Uganda.
