What is it about?
We tested 120 patients 2 years after ACL surgery of their knee. they received either Single- or Double-bundle reconstruction. We found no difference in the patient's knee-related quality of life, in their knee-function or in their return to sports 2 years after reconstruction.

Why is it important?
ACL injury is relatively frequent in the younger population. The reconstruction technique is of importance for the outcome of the operation. From our study, we could not find any additional benefits with the Double-bundle reconstruction technique compared to the common Single-bundle technique.
Perspectives
To perform an anatomic reconstruction seems to be more important than the number of bundles used for reconstruction.
