What is it about?

Review of the current literature on hip arthroscopy for FAI that demonstrates excellent objective and subjective post-operative outcomes with low complication rate

Why is it important?

Hip arthroscopy has previously been thought of as an unproven procedure; however, this study shows that patients not only do well with this procedure with minimal complications, but are also able to return to high-level sports.

Perspectives

This manuscript helps to dispel the notion that this procedure is experimental. Owning to the proven efficacy of hip arthroscopy in FAI, our research efforts can now focus on which patients would benefit from early surgical intervention as well as modalities to preserve articular cartilage damage that is commonly associated with FAI.
