What is it about?

This work explores how peace between warring parties cannot be achieved until those in power understand that they are following a cultural script outside of their awareness. This can only be discovered by dealing with many unspoken needs and feelings lying at an ulterior level of communication. The U.S. is selected as a case example.

Why is it important?

Understanding this cultural script and bringing it into awareness may help to end the need for militarization and war. Political leaders must become more psychologically sophisticated in conflict resolution attempts.

Perspectives

From my perspective violent conflicts can not be resolved unless mediators address the unspoken emotions and needs of warring parties.
