Why is it important?

When developing treatment against migraine it is important not promote drugs that may have toxic effect for the brain. Here we show that preventing the binding of CGRP with its receptor has detrimental effect on trigeminal neurons and how.

Perspectives

Choosing the right target for drug development is very important, this study highlights the positive effect of CGRP on brain function which cannot be ignored.
