What is it about?

The paper evaluates results obtained from two computational fluid dynamics solvers, WindSim and OpenFOAM, for modelling wind flow in a university campus: The University of Mauritius. The results obtained are compared and validated with onsite measured data. The article concludes that the best results for the computational fluid dynamics simulation of the wind flow around buildings are obtained using OpenFOAM.

Why is it important?

It is important for researchers who wish to perform numerical modelling of wind flow around buildings. We identify the appropriate software for performing such types of simulations.
