What is it about?
Hallux valgus (big toe deviation) can be treated by non-surgical intervention. The RCT study examines the result of using the silicone toe separator in term of hallux valgus angle from radiography , pain and complication of usage. The toe separator was customize for individuals.

Why is it important?
Our finding show that the using of customize silicone toe separator during nighttime for one year can reduce the degree hallux valgus angle , reduce hallux pain from the deformity with no complication from usage.
Perspectives
Due to lacking of information about an effectiveness of this treatment. This study is an evidence based in practice regarding orthotic treatment for this specific foot problem. The toe separator can be considers as an treatment option which possibly ease the symptoms.
