Why is it important?

Prosthetic clinics in the United States must attain accreditation in order to receive reimbursement from Medicare. The accreditation process requires clinics to establish and implement performance management plans and quality improvement (QI) activities...but practices vary widely, and patients' functional goals and gains are rarely incorporated in the process.

Perspectives

Where there's a will, there's a way. These P&O clinics are champions in going above and beyond accreditation requirements in collecting and utilizing outcomes information to improve patient care experiences.
