What is it about?
The paper looks at the outcomes for participating foster and kinship carers on finishing the programme and at 6 and 12 month follow up. The aim is to determine if the positive effects are maintained over time.

Why is it important?
This service evaluation builds upon the existing research which was carried out by the model developers in the USA. Implemented with high levels of competency and model adherence within the UK, the authors provide evidence of very good outcomes across multiple sites.
Perspectives
The National Implementation Service has worked closely with the model developers based in Oregon, USA to implement KEEP for foster and kinship carers here in the UK. This paper provides evidence that not only are the outcomes of the intervention positive, but they are maintained over time. This is a compelling contribution to the growing evidence base for KEEP. It is also an excellent fore runner to the independent evaluation of the model due to be published by Ipsos Mori in 2016 as part of the DfE's Innovation Programme.
