What is it about?

Advances in technologies that directly or indirectly visualize the structure, function, connectivity, and biochemistry of the brain, i.e. neuroimaging technologies, offer the prospect of increased understanding of the brain and its disorders and subsequently of contributing to the development of new and improved options for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of brain disorders. The question is: do different actors have different ideas on what is considered advancement or progress? This paper shows what health professionals, policy-makers and patient representatives consider as desirable neuroimaging developments in the Dutch clinical context.
