Why is it important?
This paper highlights the importance of relationality of local econimic development in the context of creative economy. The most important message is that our understanding of global urban asymmetry is a precondition for designing sensible creative city policies. The paper presents useful three-fold typology: institutional, business-oriented, and community-oriented approach to creative city, which were exemplified by three Finnish cases, the cities of Helsinki, Tampere, and Kaustinen.
