What is it about?
The study aimed to systematically review the available digital preservation studies and outline the peripheral funding situation in memory institutions around the globe. The relevant studies were identified through different databases and filtered per PRISMA protocols. The reviewed studies affirmed that memory institutions around the globe are confronted with a lack of dedicated funding for digital preservation and, as such are relying on their recurring budgets to meet the costs. The temporal and terrestrial analysis of the studies affirmed that the lack of dedicated funding for digital preservation is a common problem in all regions and has likewise persisted in terms of different periods.
