Exploring the idea of blackness or what it means to be black. If there is no black essence and the only thing that black people around the world have in common is the skin colour or phenotype, then csn anything meaningful be said about blackness?

It is important as a way of understanding the black experience and how it is shaped or constructed.
Perspectives
Reviewing this book is timely because I am currently working on the question of black identity and the race as biology and social construction debate. It contributes to the debate on race and what it means to be black.
