What is it about?

Noise pollution is considered as one of the effective factors affecting people’s quality of life in urban areas throughout the world. Traffic is a major source of noise in urban areas with wide ranging effects on human. We have shown the mean of noise levels in old and new urban fabric and their relationship with the traffic flow.

Why is it important?

Our findings show the strong relationship between mean of noise level and the %HA with traffic flow over the city. This study is of high importance in shopkeepers' exposure.

Perspectives

In this paper, the effect of traffic flow on noise level has been investigated. Regarding the obtained results, a strong relationship between mean of noise level and the %HA with traffic flow over the city has been found. In addition, some recommendations have been proposed in order to reduce the noise level throughout the city.
