What is it about?

There are frequent historical anecdotes and case reports regarding oral electrical injuries. Children suffered these injuries by biting through electrical cords or sucking on the end of a plugged extension cord. This study seeks to describe the current incidence as the epidemiology of this injury.

Electrical devices are common in households everywhere. Historically, the oral electrical injury seemed to be more common. Advocating for safety improvements in consumer products requires gaining insight into the scope of the injury before advocating for change.
