The study looks at how media, ethnicity and nationalism are related in times of conflict, concentrating on three Kurdish TV stations in Turkey and Europe.

Why is it important?
The study sheds new light on the way in which ethnic media position themselves in times of conflict, in particular vis-à-vis the nation-state and the ethnic community it represents. It also increases our understanding of the role of media in the Kurdish conflict in Turkey, concentrating not only on the media organizations but also on the professional and activist identities of media professionals.
