What is it about?

The article report on an interview study with patients experiences of care at a combined acute- and rehabilitative stroke unit, after an acute stroke.

Why is it important?

In the study, patients with cognitve impairments such as aphasia was included. That is a group of patients whose voice not always are included due to the difficulties to interview them. The article shed insights on patients' own experiences of care after an acute stroke and points to issues they find of importance.

Perspectives

In the article patients' own perspective is acknowledged and point to possible areas for interventions in order to improve care at stroke units.
