The article deals with city planning of the 1910s as an international phenomena which reached all parts of the world, including Estonia. There was an international planning competition in Tallinn 1913, won by Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen.

International planning competition Tallinn 1913 is hardly known among researchers. The aim of the article is to bring it to the wider knowledge showing that European processes of urban innovations were reflected also in Tallinn, Estonia.
