Why is it important?

This work takes an inclusive approach to resettlement and deliberates on the wider aspects of resettlement that that meets the eye. This research is first of its kind in India and seeks to fulfill the paucity of research on resettlement of veterans. We identify the socioeconomic needs in resettlement and build a continuum with social and economic needs at either ends. The motivation model is validated with a survey data with a sample of 400 veterans.

Perspectives

I have shared the firsthand knowledge and experience in this domain as I have been living through the challenges of resettlement myself as a veteran of the Indian Air Force. This study will surely be an eye-opener in India and rest of the world on resettlement of military veterans. I am happy to see the research momentum on resettlement is already gaining pace in India through my publication(s).
