This article uses virtue ethics to critique modern church planting movements, and begins to remodel a notion of the practice of mission within the broader Christian life.

Why is it important?
Church planting materials can have a tendency to subvert all moral and ethical questions for the sake of numerical growth. This article posits a way of understanding mission and church planting that does not ignore best practices, but seeks to first place such practices in the broader context of a life lived well in obedience to Jesus Christ.
