What is it about?

Church planters, missionaries, pastors, and everyone involved in sharing the gospel want to see young Christians grow in their faith. One aspect of faith is being certain of what one believes, a concept known as attitude certainty in the field of social psychology. This paper reviews empirical evidence concerning what can be done to help young Christians become more certain of their beliefs.

Why is it important?

Social Psychologists have long studied attitude certainty. This paper applies the empirical findings to church contexts in order to help Christian leaders more effectively minister to young Christians.

Perspectives

This is an important paper integrating social psychological principles into a Christian context. "Missio-logoi" (missionary speech) was the theme of this special issue of Missiology: An International Review. This paper will be useful for everyone who wants to help young Christians grow in their faith.
