What is it about?
This is a simple explanation of how women's engagement in the workforce adds to the economic sphere, and therefore, it is important to consider women relevant in both work and non-work status. The illustrations are drawn from the four metropolitan cities.

Why is it important?
Women contribute to development through their participation in the workforce as much as they do without participating. Their engagement with non-remunerative activities in the domestic spheres, if quantified, is known to add to the savings of the household or ease the financial burden. This paper highlights this in the backdrop of the evidence from the four metropolitan cities.
Perspectives
Recognising women's contribution in generating income, and thus participating in the workforce towards economic development, is essentially the crux of all societies.
