Why is it important?

This article is important because it placed the findings in the context of the policy adopted by the government towards industrialization and forest management in West Bengal under the rule of a communist party led coalition.

Perspectives

My perspective was to view the findings and interpretation in the context of the wider theoretical issues on the relationship between Anthropology and History in South Asia.
