Why is it important?

It is significant study because of theoretical and methodological advances in tourism management literature. It is first time that model for simulating of resident's behavior supported by complexity theory. A new methodological approach, called fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis, we used for model testing. Models for predicting not supporting tourism development by host community were calculated. Practical implications were suggested for policy makers.

Perspectives

This publication provides a guideline for developing and testing models of complex tourism phenomena (e.g., residents's support). A thematic research design is presented that can be helpful for tourism scholar to craft and test their configural model using fsQCA and complexity theory.
