Why is it important?
To establish the experiences of youth who identify as trans* and highlight issues in terms of policy, education, supports and service provision.
Perspectives
All services providers need to be aware that trans* people face heteronormativity, prejudice and discriminatory attitudes in their daily lives. For more responsive services and supports, collaborative working across all services needs to exist. Trans* youth have unique needs, and services should actively identify and respond appropriately to those needs in health, social care and education sectors.
