Why is it important?

It is about the civic role of a diocesan bishop of the Church of England in seeking and establishing justice for a community.

Perspectives

As a person of faith who believes that God is revealed through Christ as the fount of truth, love, justice and mercy chairing the Hillsborough Independent Panel gave me the opportunity to carry those beliefs into action. I did so with a panel of experts of differing convictions who all agreed on the primacy of justice and were bound together in a determination to honour the search for truth and justice by the Families and Survivors of the 96 who were unlawfully killed at the Hillsborough Stadium in 1989.
