What is it about?
The article ask for a revision of standard histories of theology, which move from late-medieval theology to the Reformation and Counter Reformation, bypassing the important innovations of Humanists such as Lorenzo Valla, Erasmus, and Jean Bodin. It shows how and why the theology of the Humanists so closely resembles the theological vision of Vatican II.
