Why is it important?

This is a new field of research, and we are still lacking a shared understanding of how music works and what it brings to the theological quest, as well as what it cannot bring. The shift of contemporary cultures' relationship to words makes understanding and integrating the arts into religious studies and theology essential.

Perspectives

This article lays foundations for the necessary next step: composing and preforming as an integrated part of theological writings on music. It is the "why" and "how" that invites artistic activity in musical to find a place in theological research.
