What is it about?

Editorial. The papers are picking up on a "Winter crisis" with a lack of beds in the NHS. "A return to the dark days of the nineties". But it was always thus. There have always been too few doctors, nurses, and spaces. In this issue.... ...and Brexit. What will it mean for UK medicine? ...and what would a "Scot-Free" mean for Scottish and England&Wales medicine?

Why is it important?

Medical Journals should keep awareness of the outside world, including political. They should acknowledge what other people on earth are doing. Even if they do not understand for a moment what on earth people are doing...

Perspectives

The gradual reduction of beds and facilities will backfire one day....
