What is it about?

The purpose of this qualitative project was to better understand the role of supervisors as they help counselors develop ethical competency. The term ethical fluency and its components are introduced.

Why is it important?

Supervisors play an essential role in the development of counselor ethical skills. However, clinical supervision is not often implemented or readily understood. By better understanding their role in developing ethical skills, it is anticipated that supervisors will better conceptualized ways in which to help counselors develop ethical fluency and implement ethical decision making skills.
