What is it about?

This article explores a dimension of representation that has been neglected: the institutional one. The representation of Parliament as an institution has become more important in recent years, as the need to "defend" and "explain" the institution has become prevalent. In this article we show how ironically it is those non elected officials who present the institutional representation of parliament. We also explore the different elements in institutional representation, using three case studies: the UK Parliament, the Scottish Parliament and the European Parliament.
