Very little research has been done on volunteer policing in the United States, and even less on comparing US to UK volunteer police.
Perspectives
This is an exploratory article that looks at confidence levels between volunteer police in one USA sheriff's office and one UK police service. Training, prior experience, and utilization may all be factors that influence confidence.
