What is it about?

Performance analysis is a massive argument in the actual elite soccer. Hundreds articles has been published about but few of them really support the needs of the stakeholders. In this paper tries to provide a different vision of the key performance indicators showing as our TEI and PEI related to the efficiency concept seems to be better correlated with the final score and going deeper they allow useful information to manage and improve the individual and collective performances.

Why is it important?

It is has been defined, for the first time, how each parameter and then each kind of analysis could help the coaching staff to influence the players performance. The quantitative common analysis has to leave the space to the qualitative one. Two significant findings justify the previous sentence: a) a team with a TEI greater than 5 units than the opponent has the 99% likelihood to win the game! b) TEI showed a greater relevance than PEI. It must be taken into account once the coaches plan the training schedule.

Perspectives

I believe this paper could move the attention of the stakeholders to a different vision of the KPIs that should be followed to improve the players performance. The decision making in each situation of the match seems to be the apex of the pyramid from which the tactical (cognitive), technical and physical dimensions should be managed to get the best result.
