Assising if the unreciprocal GSP scheme is beneficial to East African countries in exporting agricultural commodities to the European Union

Why is it important?

The EU is one the main export destination of agricultural produce from the East African region. Additionally, agriculture is the main stay for more than 755 of the population the sub Saharan Africa. Our findings reveal that the GSP scheme selectively enhances agricultural exports to the EU.

Perspectives

The publication is highly relevant for informed policy decisions, especially in terms of the export markets to be explored by developing countries.
